Fiji Development Bank Celebrates Milestone: 1000 Approved Loan for Women Entrepreneurs

The Fiji Development Bank (FDB) is thrilled to announce a momentous milestone in our mission to provide finance for Women Entrepreneurs. As to date, the Bank has approved 1000 loans in the last 14 months dedicated to supporting their business ventures valuing around F$2.5 million dollars.

This achievement not only signifies our unwavering commitment to Gender Equality and Social Inclusion Policy (GESI) but also reflects the diverse and widespread support we have received from various regions across the nation.

We firmly believe in the transformative power of women in business and their contribution towards society. To provide a deeper insight into this milestone, we are delighted to share the applications received from all over Fiji including the outer islands of Batiki, Cikobia, Gau, Kadavu, Koro, Lakeba, Moala, Moce, Moturiki, Ovalau, Rotuma and Vanuabalavu however it is dominated by Central/ Eastern part of Fiji.

The FDB’s use of digital outreach has been pivotal in breaking down geographical barriers, providing equal access to financial opportunities, and facilitating financial literacy programs. This approach has made banking services more accessible, ensuring that individuals, especially those from the outer islands, have the information needed to make informed financial decisions.
