Kidsfirst (Fiji) Pte Ltd operates as a Daycare, Pre-school, Kindergarten and Primary school in Domain, Suva with a roll call of about 120 children.
Kidsfirst prides itself in providing quality childcare and early childhood education in an environment that is safe, fun, clean and one that promotes a home-style setting atmosphere.
Their educational programmes are planned to encourage children to become active learners which will assist them to acquire the skills needed for later formal education. The curriculum is based on the concepts and premise of Free Play (New Zealand “Te Whariki” and the Fiji Early Childhood curriculum “Na Noda Mataniciva”, with an approach that promotes collaborative, credit-based narrative assessments of children’s development.
Owned by a young couple, Krystle Stoddart-Buksh and Ethan Buksh who moved back to Fiji after living in Christchurch for eight years, when Kidsfirst started two and half years ago it was the first of its kind as a day care center in central Suva.
Since early childhood years have a large influence on a child’s learning potential and ongoing intellectual, physical, emotional and cultural development, Krystle as the Centre Manager manages the day to day operations at Kidsfirst taking into consideration her formal background in Early Childhood Education.
Both parents of two, promote habits such as drink water only for the children at Kidsfirst to encourage healthy lifestyles for children from an early age.
With a 1:5 teacher student ratio, Kidsfirst currently employs 11 teachers, an Office Manager and two House Managers. With senior childcare staff having formal qualifications in Early Childhood Education.
