FDB Supports Cancer Awareness

Staff of the Fiji Development Bank (FDB) handed over a cheque of $5,000 to the Fiji Cancer Society today to support their efforts in raising awareness, advocating for early detection, and patient support.

FDB Chief Executive Officer, Saud Minam, said that cancer awareness should not be confined to any one month and FDB applauds the Society for their work throughout the year.

“While the month of October, which commentates Pinktober, was when staff voluntarily raised this donation, the Bank is grateful to the Society for its various awareness programs that run throughout the year,” he said.

“We hope that this modest donation courtesy Team FDB will go towards the Society’s work in assisting cancer patients who need it,” said Minam.

It is important, for both women and men, to get screened to help reduce the rate of mortality by cancer, he added.
