27 May 2015

The new Nausori market and bus stand is now expected to open at the end of next month.

Local Government and Housing Minister Parveen Bala said the construction is in its final stages.

The completion of the long awaited project is expected to give Nausori a new look with new investment opportunities.

The Nausori Town Council had signed a $6 million loan offer from the Fiji Development Bank for this project.

This was in addition to the $3 million that was contributed by government.

Meanwhile, Shop N Save Limited is also expected to start the redevelopment of the existing Nausori market site as soon as the new market and bus stand is opened.

The company has committed to invest $40 million on the project where hotel apartments, a cinema, conference rooms and supermarkets will be constructed.
